About the song

Falco and Christian Ide Hintze, a lyricist, action artist, performance and multimedia poet from Vienna, met in 1989. In the course of this acquaintance, Hintze used voice messages from Falco that were on his telephone answering machine to mix them to music he had written.

Driven by a drum machine beat, little happens musically.

The basis for the lyrics (as with Ein Tag) was a poem by Ernst Jandl, „Woran ich jetzt arbeite“. This poem was written in 1973. Falco must have liked the title very much, he used it often in interviews at the time and according to Hintze these uses also served as a signal to the poet, whom Falco admired. Falco’s sentence „Du hast hier ein Gedicht ein bisschen verstümmelt“ might have been addressed to Hintze, who then responds to it in the song with „Du hast mir eines wieder zusammengesetzt“. In addition, there are also phonetic sound games from Hintze.

In 1989, on a CD-R by Hintze, this number can be found for the first time, but under the name "Jive" the running time is not even one minute. It wasn’t until 2000 that Hintze produced a longer version on his album "Ampf", this one also including more samples of Falco’s voice. According to the booklet of this CD, the song was produced by Falco and Ide Hintze together in spring 1995.

Again, the craft song is more of an experiment than a structured number, it is probably known to only a few Falco fans and has probably found its way into only a few hearts.
