About the song

Wie auch die anderen Sampling-Songs, welche die Bollands 1998 (Tribute To Falco) and 1999 (Fascinating Man, We Live For The Night, From The North To The South) this song, which was artificially put together after Falco’s death, is one of those works in which excerpts from interviews or existing tracks by Falco were mixed with newly written music.

This song belongs together with Angst, Extravaganza, Just An Illusion, News York City Girls and Where Are You Now? to the so-called Bolland Tapes, a series of sampling songs that were never officially released but are available online. It seems that in 1999 the Bollands tried to create some “new” Falco songs using this concept. After the disaster with Where Are You Now?, which was released semi-officially as an mp3 download release in 2000 and was quickly exposed as a fake, Falco’s former producers seem to have gotten cold feet – the remaining songs ultimately only appeared as a kind of bootleg in fan circles.

A fast beat starts the sampling song, then a guitar riff and a synth melody drive the number forward. The chorus is sung by the Bollands, Falco’s voice is mixed in quite appropriately. In the middle part there is a not very exciting guitar solo, and at the end of the track you can hear another synthesizer melody.

In this sampling song, too, the Bollands use recordings of Falco’s voice in a way that can only be described as meaningless gibberish. The following words and sentences were borrowed from the tracks Metamorphic Rocks andTime: „It’s gonna change“, „Changing“, „Here we go“, „Work it all out“, Our face, our looks“. The whole sampled lyrical concept is of course without any connection, the samples are put together completely meaninglessly.

And here too, it’s hard to find any charm or authenticity in this sampling song produced after Falco’s death. Like the other Bolland tapes, it stands as a terrifying example of how not to deal with an artist’s musical legacy.
